POSITION: Infrastructure & Network Administrator
Purpose
The Infrastructure & Network Administrator will be part of the Information Technology (IT) team and responsible for the operations of IT infrastructure at all data centers (physical or cloud-based) at the Head Office and branch offices.
Major responsibilities
- Collaborate with the IT Manager and service partners to design, build, and deploy systems at BGSL offices.
- Monitor and ensure high-quality service delivery from IT service partners.
- Provide expert infrastructure support for all IT projects.
- Contribute to the IT department’s strategic objectives by creating and implementing effective solutions to meet business requirements.
- Validate disaster recovery procedures.
- As the lead systems architect at BGSL, you will work with BI IT to protect cloud data through effective security, storage, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery techniques.
- You will also adhere to audit and compliance expectations and strive to improve system controls and cybersecurity.
- You will ensure that all implementation initiatives follow established change management policies and ITIL complaint processes.
Experience (include sector or industry)
- Five years of experience managing technical and infrastructure services.
- Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills.
- ITIL and Cybersecurity certifications are required.
- Experience with applications and databases is preferred.
- Disaster recovery system design and planning experience is required.
- Knowledge of enterprise system monitoring and management tools is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
- Skilled in collaborating with service vendors, managing change management projects, and implementing infrastructure platforms such as Unix, Windows, Storage Technologies, Databases, Middleware, and Capacity Management.
- Proficient in networking and communications.
- Manage resources, support, and infrastructure for IT projects, products, and services.
- Knowledge of public cloud technologies, such as AWS.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a comparable subject.
- Professional Degree / Certification
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator), MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer), ITIL V3 Foundation, and Fortinet NSE 4-FortOS (advantage).
Location: Accra.
