Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC) is a prominent, Africa-centered research facility and is one of the three field research centers under the Research and Development Division of the Ghana Health Service. The efforts of KHRC impact health policies and practices across Ghana, Africa, and globally. KHRC provides research and training services both nationally and internationally, and its staff members possess diverse expertise. KHRC is situated in the central region of Ghana.

Job Summary

Eligible candidates are encouraged to submit applications to offer catering services at Kintampo Health Research Centre, located in Kintampo North Municipality, Bono-East Region.

  • Appointment Type: Full-Time Contract.
  • Length: One (1) year (extendable)

Concise Job Overview 

He or she will offer a diverse menu at the staff canteen for visitors and collaborators at reasonable prices and will report to the Director through the Administrator.

Main Duties

  • Organize, plan, and provide meals for personnel, guests, and others.
  • Serve food in an intimate, secluded environment.
  • You need to have your own team to collaborate with.
  • Make sure that meals comply with health safety regulations and additional standards.
  • Instruct, oversee, and assess assistants.
  • Make sure the kitchen is tidy and well-organized.
  • Communicate with clients to verify that payments and account standings are correct.
  • Choose which dishes to make.
  • Food preparation directly
  • Fulfill food requests
  • Address customer challenges
  • Getting ready and presenting meals at occasions.
  • Managing business-related matters, including contracts and invoices.
  • Monitoring and implementing food safety regulations.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Qualification in Hospitality Management or Food and Beverage Management or similar, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in catering service provision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related area with a minimum of 5 years of experience in catering services.
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Catering accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of experience in catering services.
  • Work experience, expertise, and abilities
  • Over five years of professional experience
  • Expertise in culinary preparation and visual arrangement
  • Capability to assess customer food requirements and create menus accordingly.
  • Capability to oversee personnel and educate new employees
  • Demonstrated experience in a comparable position
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, presentation, and customer service abilities.
  • Enhanced customer support abilities
  • Robust leadership and oversight abilities
  • Knowledge of safe food handling regulations and practices
  • Skills in critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Skills in organization and managing time
