Role Title: SALES ENGINEER

This position also provides a chance for industry engineers with the mindset and mentality for sales. As a Sales Engineer, you will have the unique chance to combine technical experience with people skills and business knowledge to assist customers in locating the most cost-effective solutions to their technical needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for meeting the executive leadership’s monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Pursuing new clientele and business possibilities
  • Maintaining and managing existing customer portfolios in order to ensure a zero-loss sales regime via a customer retention program
  • Working within agreed-upon budgetary constraints
  • Must be well-versed in the features, functions, benefits, and usage trends of each product.
  • Demonstrate mastery in the use, functionality, benefits, and drawbacks of your items on a consistent basis.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, NetSuite, and SFDC are all used proficiently.
  • Conduct industry analysis – Serve as a resource in updating Lead Sales Engineers / Department Heads on the latest industry trends and new products.
  • Conduct Customer Installed Base surveys and generate reports that provide insights into opportunities, competitive information, and the performance of on-site instruments. This may necessitate the Sales Engineer gathering client data and input, which must be relayed to leadership for future product development and introduction.
  • Maintain control over all sales orders in transit by liaising with the Logistics/Finance department to ensure the timely arrival of customer purchases to avoid late deliveries.
  • Support the Lead Sales Engineer’s directives and instructions.
  • Advice on market trends, urgent demands, and future requirements to the Lead Sales Engineer and General Manager.
  • Meet your weekly call and customer visit goals. The Sales Engineer will be expected to deliver a weekly report to the Sales Lead outlining the outcomes and challenges of weekly customer engagements.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

  • Ensure that sales operations are in line with QMS quality standards and regulations.
  • Work with customers to understand their needs and expectations, and ensure that all sales operations adhere to departmental sales processes.
  • Using officially recognized channels, keep accurate records of sales operations, agreements, and customer interactions.
  • Identify chances to improve the sales process, customer satisfaction, and overall quality performance through regular customer interactions and feedback to the HOD.
  • Participate in all assigned QMS-related training sessions and share QMS information with other team members.
  • Participate in internal audits of sales processes and QMS to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ORGANIZATIONAL HEALTH, SAFETY, AND ENVIRONMENT:

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the following fields: electrical engineering, petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, computer engineering/computer science, physics, and mathematics (or studies connected to science).
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a comparable capacity is required.
  • Applicants with experience in the primary sectors, such as mining, minerals, metals, and cement, will be given preference.
