The University of North Georgia is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Reference Services Librarian to support library instruction, research services, information literacy, and collection development across the institution. Job Duties

  • Design, develop, deliver, and promote library instruction classes, workshops, and research consultation services.
  • Create instructional materials and learning resources to support information literacy initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty and teaching staff to integrate library instruction into academic programs.
  • Manage library collections and perform collection development within assigned subject areas.
  • Provide reference, circulation, and general library assistance to students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Deliver remote library support services as needed across university campuses.
  • Participate in scholarly research, publications, workshops, webinars, and professional development activities.
  • Represent the library and university at campus, local, regional, state, and national meetings and conferences.
  • Serve on university committees and collaborate with campus partners across multiple departments.
  • Perform additional library and academic support duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Master of Library Science (MLS) or Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree from an ALA-accredited institution.
  • Excellent knowledge of library resources and reference services.
  • Strong proficiency with computers, integrated library systems, and instructional technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to teaching, student success, and information literacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented academic environment.
  • Professional interpersonal skills when interacting with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • At least two years of academic library experience is preferred.
  • Experience providing classroom, online, or library instruction is preferred.
  • Experience with library content management systems such as Springshare is preferred.
