POSITION: Business Development Officer

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position for a Business Development Officer in Klagon, Tema in the warehouse office, reporting to the General Manager – Commercial. As a Business Development Officer, you will find and pursue new business opportunities, build and maintain client relationships, and collaborate with the General Manager – Commercial to promote revenue growth. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mentality, good communication and negotiation skills, and a strong ability to acquire and retain clients.

Detailed Job Description

  • Create and implement a business development plan to discover and pursue new project possibilities in agriculture and logistics.
  • Conduct market research to uncover trends, rivals, and potential clients in agricultural and logistics. Use findings to effectively position the company’s services. This should result in decades of statistics on quality improvement and consumer happiness.
  • Manage client connections with important stakeholders such as the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Exporter Associations, and Farmer Based Organizations.
  • Facilitates cross-functional collaboration to resolve customer service issues in concert with appropriate teams.
  • Transparency and Visibility: Ensures transparency and regular reporting of account-related activities.
  • Effective coordination among stakeholders ensures client deliverables.
  • Client coordination: Collaborates with clients to develop digital initiatives that leverage existing and prospective partner strengths to enhance the business portfolio.
  • Maintains current understanding of industry products, services, and trends.
  • Effectively coordinates with the company’s solutions and services departments to ensure timely and high-quality product and service delivery.
  • Effectively communicates with other departments, including account management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields.
  • Professional marketing qualifications will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of diverse professional experience with respected firms.
  • Proven experience in business growth or sales.
  • Deep understanding of the local market and industry trends.
  • Effective communication, negotiating, and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to establish and sustain client connections.
  • Proven ability to achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Excellent attention to detail, timeliness, and accuracy.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in leadership or management will be advantageous.
