POSITION: Chief Operating Officer
Job Description
The Registrar serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the University College and is accountable for the daily operations of the University, following the policy directives set by the council. The Registrar also serves as Secretary to the Chancellor’s Office, the University Council, and the Academic Board. S/He offers strategic counsel and briefings to the President and is anticipated to deliver leadership and management over various activities while directing the structure within which policies will be developed.
- The Registrar will be in charge of safeguarding the University seal and will affix it to documents in accordance with the instructions of the council and the academic board when exercising their respective authorities under the statutes.
- The Register will be tasked with assembling the list of graduating students and guaranteeing the creation and safeguarding of certificates, transcripts, and all other pertinent academic records and documents related to students.
- The Registrar will be in charge of the safekeeping of all legal papers and records of the university.
- At the conclusion of each semester, the registrar will ensure that all policy decisions made by the council and the academic board are published in the University Bulletin.
- The Registrar will lead efforts to enhance the University’s marketing in order to draw in high-quality students and boost student enrollment.
- The Registrar will be tasked with enhancing the University’s human resources to provide them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and capabilities to perform successfully.

- Should have a keen mind with outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Should be ethical with a solid and demonstrated sense of public morals and integrity.
The candidate must also provide evidence of the following traits.
- A profound respect for the scholarly work atmosphere
- A grasp of the history and development of universities, as well as local higher education policies and practices.
- Extensive experience in engaging with diverse internal and external audiences.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Candidates applying for the Registrar position must hold an M.Phil, MBA, M.A, or a similar professional qualification in the pertinent field, ideally in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, General Management, etc. Furthermore, they should have at least 10 years of experience in a comparable institution as Deputy Registrar or Principal Assistant Registrar, or in an equivalent role. For an officer holding the position of Deputy Registrar, at least 8 years of pertinent experience is necessary.
Conditions of Employment
The Registrar will serve an initial term of 3 years. The renewal of the appointment can be requested for a duration set by the Governing council. The applicant must not exceed 63 years of age by January 2025.
Service Terms and Conditions: The compensation and terms of employment related to the role are appealing.
