POSITION: Locomotives and Railway Maintenance Manager
Purpose of the Position
- The role aims to supervise the administration of all railway tracks, trains/locomotives, and additional equipment to guarantee an efficient and effective transport of ore, waste, construction materials, and personnel underground.
- In order to achieve the established targets and outcomes, the manager must perform routine scheduled and unscheduled inspections and participate in proactive and preventive maintenance along with repairs of the locomotive, wagons, railway tracks, and other machinery.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Maintenance, Civil, Building Technology, etc.) with at least 4 to 5 years of experience OR
- Engineering Diploma (Mechanical, Electrical, Maintenance), possessing at least 12 years of pertinent experience.
- Certificate of competence as an Engineering Superintendent, Sectional Engineer, or Inspecting Engineer from the inspectorate division of the minerals commission (IDMC) certifications.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License from the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) or the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana (IET-GH).
- At least 5 years of experience in engineering positions, with substantial experience in mining operations.
Interpersonal Skills and Technical Abilities
- Expertise in mining engineering principles
- Expertise in Railways and Locomotives
- Capability to guide a team and manage team dynamics
- Capacity to resolve issues and analytical abilities
- Management of resource allocation and budget distribution
- Understanding of safety and health for mining
