Ghanaian celebrities have joined Nigerians in the fight against police brutalities to show solidarity and support.
Our Nigerian brothers have embarked on protest both online and offline in the quest to stop harassment and brutality from Special Anti-Robbery Squad. This police force unit is actually meant to fight armed robbery in the country but reports coming in suggest that the police officers are fond of harassing people and in worse cases end innocent lives. For this reason, many Nigerians have hit the streets to protest against the rampant killing and assaults.
To show like-mindedness as a sister country, some Ghanaian celebrities have joined the protest on social media. They actually condemned the uncompromising actions of the police.
In an earlier post, Juliet Ibrahim shared her experience with SARS in Nigeria and how she afraid she was. She stressed that people should never live in fear because of law enforcement officers who are supposed to protect them.
In a recent post, Lydia Forson has explained why Nigeria is facing this problem now. According to her, their current situation is because of suppression of Nigerians for quite a long period. To her, they are simply tired.
Songstress Becca also disclosed that, she has had a personal experience with the police and so she totally understand their frustration. She added that, harassments, extortions and killings must end with immediate effect.
Sarkodie felt sorry for the Nigerians and reassured them that we stand with them. He believes what the Nigerians are facing is insane and inhumane.
Shatta Wale was so emotional. He wondered how the police feel when they murder one of our own (a black man). He encouraged them to keep on fighting for their rights.
To Stonebwoy, the police are supposed to be our friends and enforce the law for peace and love to reign. Therefore, if the police is doing otherwise, they should be condemned. He thinks the level at which the situation in Nigeria stands gives Africa a bad look.
Many other celebrities like Efya, Sista Afia, Efia Odo, Van Viker, Jackie Appiah and Nadia Buari and joined in the protest online.
Privilege will have you believing that what’s happening in Nigeria cannot happen in Ghana.
Listen, Nigerians didn’t just wake up one day and decide to protest; this has been building up for many many years.
And it’s not just about SARS either, people are just TIRED.

The Police They Say is Your Friend. Mandated To Enforce The Law so there's Peace Love And Unity. Now To Have the Police Do Otherwise should be condemned. This is happening in so many other countries in africa to have it get to this level in nigeria 🇳🇬 is a bad Look for AFRICA pic.twitter.com/Xv0aBfxWJe
