We are motivated to take action due to weak governance, economic growth, and infrastructure expansion, rising consumption and low public support for conservation, illegal mining and logging, human population growth generating domestic demand, and unsustainable agricultural practices.
Furthermore, we seek to address these issues through research, policy, and site interventions.
Job Description
The Ghana Wildlife Society, a national conservation and research NGO, is looking for a highly driven and committed individual to lead the organization as Executive Director
Job Summary
• The job provides vision and strategic direction for the Society’s expansion and guarantees the effective performance of its nature and environmental conservation programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Make decisions on operational activity.
- Establish and measure strategic operational goals and KPIs.
- Plan, execute, and manage the overall long-term corporate success strategy.
- Plan and monitor day-to-day operations.
- Supervise, train, and oversee employees from various divisions.
- Offer constructive criticism.
- Organize customer support to increase customer satisfaction.
- Review financial data and reports.
- Manage operational budgets to increase profitability.
- Create policies and processes, and encourage adherence.
- Manage your relationships with external partners and vendors.
Qualifications & Experience
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a relevant field
- At least 5 years of senior management experience in NGO operations
- Strong leadership skills, resource mobilization experience, familiarity with donor agencies, and managing multiple donor-funded projects
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Passion for nature conservation.
