Expro is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to join its BD/Sales team in Accra.
Job Purpose
To generate new and lucrative business in all areas of responsibility. Foster positive relationships with clients in order to deliver accurate and up-to-date intelligence on their organization and activity schedules in order to establish appropriate business development/sales strategies. Measure and report on business development actions within the scope of your responsibilities.
Position and drive Expro to be chosen for all product line opportunities, invent new technology offerings, and provide technical assistance to customers, ensuring that appropriate technical and commercial solutions are established and delivered to protect Expro’s business and meet client needs.
Accountabilities And Key Activities
- Identify new business prospects within the area of responsibility and design appropriate delivery strategies in collaboration with the relevant area teams and Region BD manager.
- Create and implement a business development plan or plans, and guarantee that they are followed through regularly.
- Identify and address areas of concern that are affecting targets. As needed, provide progress reports and updates.
- Maintain positive client relationships by making frequent, focused contact with key decision-makers to thoroughly understand their company and contracting needs.
- Provide accurate and up-to-date intelligence about the client and their contractual plans.
- Drive the tender strategy and aid in the development of tenders, commercial evaluations, and business cases under company rules, procedures, and any statutory requirements.
- Participate in the BER process as needed.
- To guarantee that information is communicated across the organization, record and retain up-to-date customer opportunities, market, and competitor data.
- Maintain accurate records using Sales Force.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Expro’s range of products and services, liaising with Product Line teams as needed for the most recent updates and technical information.
- Deliver presentations and seminars, and attend technical gatherings to create and strengthen customer connections and educate clients about the company’s goods and services.
- Participate in the creation of the annual budget and the continual review of revenue targets.
- Ensure an efficient flow of information throughout Regions, Areas, and Product Lines.
- As needed, communicate with internal and external departments to ensure proper communication flow.
- Ensure that client questions and concerns are addressed as soon as possible, and follow up on any specific issues or concerns.
- Lead the business development/sales teams in your area of responsibility.
- Actively follow the Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery rules, procedures, and processes to ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained and the danger to Expro’s reputation is minimized.
- Provide ethical leadership in all matters; ensure staff are aware of Expro’s compliance rules and feel comfortable reporting potential infractions or conflicts of interest.
- Adherence to and compliance with appropriate Quality policies, procedures, processes, and systems.
- Participate actively in quality improvement processes.
- Act on identified issues and, when needed, approve variances from established processes.
- Ensure that all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and processes are followed by personnel.
- Provide leadership in HSE; encourage employees to accept responsibility for their own and others’ safety; and create an environment in which they feel empowered to cease any risky job.
- Ensures that all incidents and non-conformances are reported under the proper processes and timeframes;
- Ensures that all incidents are investigated and corrective actions are taken as needed; and participates in incident investigations as needed.
- Direct reports must be supervised, mentored, and coached, and their Employee Development Plans must be completed.
- Ensure that training and competency programs are in place to facilitate the mentoring of subordinates through the competency system, where relevant.
- When necessary, conduct competency assessments.
Job Skills and Qualifications
- Possess a Professional Qualification, ideally in a technical field.
- Extensive expertise in a technical or business development/sales function, preferably related to an Expro product line
- Financial and commercial knowledge (in connection to the tendering/quoting/budgeting process)
- Sales and negotiating abilities
- Interpersonal and leadership abilities
- MS Word and PowerPoint prowess
