POSITION: Bookkeeper

We educate young Africans with college degrees and place them in rural, impoverished areas for up to a year to help implement small-scale, impactful initiatives identified by the local community. After demonstrating the strength and efficacy of the model, CorpsAfrica has started to secure funding, and as we prepare for growth, we aim to recruit enthusiastic, skilled, and highly efficient personnel to our team.

Summary of the Role: 

The Bookkeeper will make certain that all financial reports are finished and submitted punctually. The individual will collaborate effectively with team members at every level to gather and document all financial information into an efficient database, create and oversee activity budgets, reconcile all accounting records, and deliver monthly statements for the headquarters’ reconciliation process.

  • Classification: Permanent position

  • Location: Ghana
  • Reports to: The Admin/Finance Coordinator while maintaining collaborative relationships with the Finance Team at GSO.

Main Duties:

  • Examine and deliver financial reports promptly and accurately; effectively convey monthly and yearly financial statements; manage all financial, project/program, and grant accounting activities.
  • Support the Country Director in overseeing the organizational cash flow and forecasting, ensuring adherence to monthly reporting and reconciliation, maintaining stable financial data and cash flow to meet operational needs, as well as effectively communicating and presenting important financial issues.
  • Offer insights and evaluations regarding CorpsAfrica’s human resources and administration financial policies and stipulations (taxation, insurance, etc.).
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Country Director.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financial Accounting, or a related field.
  • Capability to convey financial ideas to – and to efficiently work alongside – programmatic and fundraising team members who may not have finance expertise.
  • Tech-savvy with expertise in accounting and reporting applications.
  • Proficiency in English
