Job Description

  • Carry out the entry and exit procedures for guests and resolve any issues they may have throughout their stay.
  • Perform his or her duties in accordance with the Front Office Manager’s established practices, operating instructions, and procedures.
  • Complete the check-in and check-out processes.
  • Throughout the entire process, keep an eye on the VIP, COMP, and HOUSE-USE.
  • Take over the cash register from the previous shift at the start of the shift and return it at the end.
  • Handle guest concerns and ensure that appropriate action is taken (room changes, breakdown reports, cleaning complaints, etc.).
  • Send a reminder to rooms that need to be checked out, and if an extension is requested, follow the appropriate processes and notify the Housekeeping Department.
  • Take note of the guests’ wake-up demands.
  • Send guest requests to the Guest Relations Department.
  • Always meet and say goodbye to guests in a polite manner.
  • Ensure that all official paperwork is completed in full and in an orderly fashion.
  • Provide complete and accurate information to his or her managers.
  • Participate in the Front Office Department’s internal communication meetings and training sessions.
  • Pay close attention to representation. Is always mindful that his or her clothes, behaviour, and words represent the facility.
  • Carry out any additional duties assigned by managers or hotel management that are not listed in the job description.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working as a hotel receptionist or guest services representative.
  • High school diploma or appropriate equivalent
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other essential computer programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Ability to keep a good, friendly attitude even under high pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Professional Attitude and Appearance
