POSITION: Corporate Security Manager
Company Description

With 189 member countries and over 160 offices around the world, the WBG collaborates with public and private partners on important projects, using research and technology to address pressing global issues.
The WBG is part of the UN Security Management System and works closely with other financial institutions, like the International Monetary Fund, African Development Bank, and Inter-American Development Bank.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Corporate Security Manager will:
- Help lead and implement global security programs as part of the management team.
- Supervise at least three Africa-based Senior Security Specialists to ensure they provide good support and follow security policies.
- Share the security strategy and programs with managers to promote understanding of security risks.
- Oversee recommendations from Security Program Reviews and audits.
- Manage budgets, contracts, and staffing for their programs.
- Work closely with the Chief Security Officer on strategy and budget.
- Handle HR matters for their team, including recruitment and performance evaluations.
- Support the WBG in crisis management teams when needed.
- Build relationships with internal and external partners, including UN security teams and other international organizations.
- The Manager may also represent the Chief Security Officer in meetings and decisions related to security strategy and budgeting.
Selection Criteria
- A Master’s Degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience, or a mix of education and experience.
- Ability to consult and influence senior decision-makers.
- Experience in security programs, especially in high-risk areas, and in advising senior officials.
- Strong interpersonal skills for managing professional security teams.
- Knowledge of business issues related to the WBG and how security expertise can support operations.
- Proven leadership in managing diverse security teams and ensuring a positive work environment.
- Skill in planning and organizing activities for effective delivery of work.
- Project management and decision-making skills, especially concerning staff safety.
- Experience in managing budgets according to WBG standards.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English to explain security risks to non-security staff, including senior management.
