This is an opportunity for a civil/geotechnical engineer to join a dynamic multinational consultancy in Accra, Ghana.
The role will be a Senior Engineer within our core business in the Gold Mining Sector, primarily in tailings management.
JOB PROFILE
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for:
- Managing projects in the existing core business within the mining and tailings waste management sector.
- Supervising, civil and engineers from other related fields engineers to complete projects to specification, cost and schedule requirements.
- Project management, reporting on projects in all locations and keeping track of the progress of the projects.
- Technical review and sign off on design calculations
- Business development roles including proposal/bid preparation and submission.
- Analysing project costs and controls Site inspections and auditing.
- Solving challenges associated with project activities.
- Preparing and submitting of periodic report on all project activities updates and briefs to management weekly or monthly based on team communication.
- Attending regular project meetings with clients
- Appraising the performance of other Engineers to help determine promotions and salary adjustments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BSc. in Civil Engineering and
- Master’s degree in Projects Management or Geotechnical Engineering At least ten (10) years work experience in civil/geotechnical roles mining or minerals processing.
- Strong background in design and construction of civil structures
- A member of a recognised professional body (desirable)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages
- Proficient in AutoCAD applications
