JOB PURPOSE:
Dredge Masters Limited is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team and help us increase our footprint in the dredging business. We are looking for a seasoned individual with at least ten years of hands-on experience in company development, preferably in the maritime and dredging sectors.
Reports to: Deputy Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement strategies for identifying and capturing new business opportunities in the dredging sector.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Create and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy to improve brand visibility, lead generation, and conversion rates.
- Work with cross-functional teams to tailor solutions to customer requirements.
- To identify potential growth possibilities, keep an eye on industry developments and market conditions.
- Create and deliver captivating presentations and proposals to potential clients.
- Show cultural and community sensitivity in client interactions.
- Documenting project modifications and updates.
QUALIFICATION
- Education: Masters in MBA/MSc in Business/CIMG. Certification BSc/BA in business administration, finance, or a related discipline
- Education in engineering, project management, and strong marketing expertise would be evaluated.
- Fluency in speaking and writing French will be an additional advantage.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 10–12 years’ experience of effective commercial management, company development, customer management, sales, or related sector, with at least 5 years in senior roles.

- Previous experience with dredging, mining, or heavy-duty machine operations would be preferred.
- Extensive experience in business prospecting inside Africa or internationally Exposure
- Strong Government Relations and Stakeholder Management
- A proven track record of successful sales and/or marketing, and managing relationships with major clients.
- Understanding of the industry and the route to market processes
- A thorough understanding of market research methodology and analysis
- Experience designing and executing commercial strategies, with a strong understanding of client and market dynamics and requirements.
- Solid understanding of critical financial facts, as well as the capacity to develop solid budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting
