Community and Volunteering Assistant Jobs in UK 2024

The Children’s Country House in Sudbury views the grounds, the hall, and the museum as one cohesive unit under one main concept. We have thought over every detail and wondered how we can make this a place where each child is allowed to direct their visit and feels welcomed and at ease.

In your role as our Volunteer and Community Assistant, you will assist in carrying out our Volunteer and Community Plan, which includes enlisting new volunteers and assisting our current team of volunteers in providing a kid-focused offering for our visitors.

Working with vulnerable populations, especially children, is a requirement of the role, and any offer of employment or volunteerism is contingent upon passing an enhanced DBS check.

What it’s like to work here

The Children’s Country House is being developed, for and by children, using a variety of skills and research to make sure we stay loyal to our goals. We assembled a team of more than a hundred young ambassadors to assist us in our endeavor to construct a country home for kids. By offering a fun heritage day where kids can use their natural curiosity to explore the land in a safe and unrestricted way, we hope to engage kids with our collections, stories, and history.

Reporting to our Senior Volunteer and Community Officer, you will be a member of our Volunteer and Community Team. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with our group of about seventy volunteers who serve in a variety of capacities within the property team.

Duties

  • By assisting our teams, volunteers, partners, and local communities, you’ll contribute to the execution of our volunteering and community plan.
  • You will assist with day-to-day management, administrative, and other volunteer service support tasks.
  • Also, make sure volunteers feel interested and engaged in the property’s work by working with them at every step of the volunteer journey.
  • Keeping an open line of communication with volunteers, communities, and partners.

This will involve helping to ensure that new volunteers are recruited, chosen, and oriented efficiently to foster an inclusive “one team” culture where volunteering is accessible to all.
