Job Summary
CRS began its work in Ghana in 1958 and now has extensive programs in Agriculture and Livelihoods, Health, WASH, Migration, Youth Development and Peace Building, Gender, and Financial Inclusion. CRS is implementing a number of projects across these major program areas. This new initiative aims to support interventions in priority agricultural value chain segments such as: 1) Animal Farming (Poultry and Fish); 2) Grains and Cereals (Maize, Soybeans, Groundnuts, and Rice); and 3) Horticulture (Vegetables and Fruits).
In this role, you will help a team achieve project objectives by coordinating and reporting on all project activities, as well as offering technical guidance and advice to staff and implementing partners to advance Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work helping the poor and vulnerable. Your coordination and relationship management abilities will guarantee that the partners in the region for which you are responsible follow best practices and are continually striving to improve the impact of their benefits on individuals we serve. This role will report to the Project Manager and be situated in Tamale, Ghana, with frequent travel throughout the Northern, Oti, and Bono East regions of Ghana.

Roles and Key Responsibilities
- Organize and lead the execution of all assigned project activities as stated in the implementation plan, in accordance with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and best practices.
- Support and coordinate capacity building and technical support operations to ensure assigned project activities are carried out in accordance with project guidelines and standards.
- Coordinate the supply of any logistical and administrative support to employees and partners.
- Ensure that project paperwork for assigned activities is complete, including all relevant documents, and filed in accordance with agency and donor requirements. Assist with the creation of trend analysis reports and the documenting of case studies and promising practices.
- Train Private Agriculture Service Providers (PASPs) and give technical support to project officials on access to finance for smallholder farmers by promoting SILC for youth, women, and people with disabilities.
- Train Private Agriculture Service Providers (PASPs) to provide technical assistance to project officers about access to finance and financial education for adolescents, women, and individuals with disabilities.
Required Skill or Experience
Basic Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in agricultural (economics, extension, and agribusiness), business administration, development finance, or entrepreneurship is necessary. A master’s degree in international relations or agriculture (economics, extension, agribusiness), business administration, development finance, or entrepreneurship would be beneficial.
- A minimum of 5 years of project assistance experience is required, preferably in agriculture financing, savings and internal lending communities (SILC) or village savings and loan associations (VSLAs), agribusiness development, or for an NGO.
- Additional experience may be used to replace some schooling.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Analysis and problem-solving skills, together with the capacity to make informed judgment.
- Excellent relationship management abilities and the ability to collaborate effectively with local partners.
- Proactive, results-driven, and service-oriented
- Attention to detail, precision, and timeliness in carrying out assigned obligations.
Required Languages: Proficient in English. Other local languages spoken in the project area, such as Dagbani, Likpakpaln, Twi, Ewe, and/or Bassari, are preferred.
Travel: be willing and able to travel 50% of the time.
