Canada Launches Two New Immigration Streams
Ottawa introduces two unique immigration channels. Did you know that under the new Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot Program, qualified workers can now immigrate to Canada whether or not they have employment offers?
Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP)
Two new immigration categories were recently established by the federal government as part of the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP). It appears that the administration is leaning toward facilitating greater access to bright individuals for Canadian employers. Using the nation’s migration system to help employers gain access to a fresh pool of global talent is how the authorities want to use it to address the country’s chronic labor shortages, according to Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.
The final strategy Canada developed and is now advocating internationally involves finding talented workers among people who have been displaced abroad without a long-term solution. He continued by saying that Canada would keep developing scalable and creative ways to allow vulnerable people entrance. In the long run, it would assist companies in hiring the higher-skilled personnel they need to grow.
Job Offer Stream
For displaced people and refugees who have a work offer that meets the criteria below, apply to the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot Federal Skills work Offer Stream.
- Full-time or a minimum of 30 hours of non-seasonal work per week
- Also, a job from a Canadian employer
- Lastly, the position specified in the National Occupation Classification’s Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities (TEER) categories 1, 2, 3, or 5.
It’s interesting to note that this stream would assist businesses in finding qualified people for a range of in-demand positions, including the following;
- Nurse Aides
- Mechanical and electrical engineers and technicians
- Long-term care aids
- Software Engineers
- Personal support workers
- Web designers
- Tourism and hospitality workers
- Truck and delivery service drivers
- Logistics
- Warehouse workers
No Job Offer Stream
This stream is intended for particular applicants who have a highly sought-after set of talents, ensuring that they’ll find employment once they arrive in Canada. Candidates who meet the following work experience requirements are eligible;
- To begin with, the applicant’s work history must equal at least one year of full-time employment, 1560 hours of paid work, or an equivalent number of part-time hours.
- The second requirement is that the job experience must have been obtained within three years before the application date.
- Additionally, the National Occupational Classification’s tier categories 0, 1, 2, or 3 should apply to the job experience.
- Last but not least, keep in mind that your experience working for yourself does not count.
In accordance with the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot, Ottawa recently established a new federal pathway. In addition, the government has introduced a new open work permit for candidates in the family and spousal class.
