Latest Canada Express Entry Draw: Minimum CRS Score | IRCC Latest Update
In the most recent Express Entry draw, the IRCC invites 4,800 applicants. IRCC has solicited candidates for the 13th Express entrance draw of 2023. In an all-program draw, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) distributed 4,800 invitations to apply (ITAs) to applicants. Candidates needed at least a 488 on the Comprehensive Ranking System.
After the all-program draw on April 26, this was the first one since then. The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) are the three programs controlled by the express entry application management system that candidates may apply to.
This draw comes after the most recent one on May 10, in which 589 individuals who were eligible for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) received invitations to apply (ITAs). Candidates are only taken into consideration in a PNP-only draw if they are both in the express entry pool and have been nominated by a Canadian provincial.
Express Entry in 2023
Express Entry’s conduct in 2023 has not yet developed a clear pattern regarding the number of applicants selected, the frequency of drawings, or even the kind of draws. The pre-pandemic pattern of two-week intervals and invitations to all programs’ candidates for draws continued in January. When the IRCC held full program-specific draws between February 1 and March 1, this changed. The first FSWP program-specific draw took place in February as well.

Regarding ITAs issued in a single month, this was the second-highest total ever. Later in the year, in April, the pre-pandemic schedule of one all-program draw every two weeks reinstates. It anticipates that IRCC would start organizing draws that focus on candidates for express entry based on particular qualities rather than a high CRS score.
When Bill C-19 obtained Royal Ascent in June 2022, this became practicable. The proposed legislation will grant Canada’s Minister of Immigration the power to select applicants who will help the country achieve its economic objectives by relieving pressure brought on by persistent labor shortages in particular industries. The IRCC and the immigration minister have complete control over the express entry draws.
The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act has no provisions about the frequency of drawings, which programs, the number of applicants, or the minimum CRS cutoff score. If the minister decides it as not essential, IRCC does not require following a pattern or even holding drawings.
