Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and organized Alumni Relations Coordinator to lead Blossom Academy’s alumni engagement efforts. The Alumni Relations Coordinator will develop and maintain relationships with graduates, plan events, and carry out efforts to improve the alumni experience. This position demands a creative and collaborative individual with good communication skills and a strong desire to promote community among our graduates.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement methods for engaging alumni and strengthening their connection to Blossom Academy.
- Maintain an alumni contact database and accurate records of engagement activities through monthly casual gatherings.
- Plan and organize alumni activities, such as reunions, networking receptions, and professional development workshops.
- Oversee the alumni mentorship program, which pairs recent Fellowship program graduates with current Fellows to share expertise and experience.
- Work with the marketing and communications teams to develop engaging material for alumni newsletters, social media channels, and other communication tools.
- Act as the main point of contact for alumni inquiries and requests for information.
- Find ways for alumni to volunteer, assist current students, and contribute to the success of Blossom Academy activities.
- Create a profile for each student throughout the fellowship that will be kept on file after graduation.
- Work with academic departments and career services to offer continuous support and resources to alumni.
- Monitor alumni outcomes and success stories to highlight the accomplishments of our graduates.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in alumni relations so that programs and initiatives can be continuously improved.
Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, education, or another relevant profession.
- Demonstrated experience in alumni relations, community engagement, or a similar position.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, as well as the ability to connect with varied audiences.
- Strong written and vocal communication abilities, with expertise in creating interesting content for a variety of platforms.
- Highly organized, with the capacity to manage numerous projects and priorities at once.
- A creative thinker who can devise novel approaches to engage alumni and foster a feeling of community.
- Previous event planning and logistical management experience is required.
- A strong interest in education and a desire to see graduates succeed.
- Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
