AngloGold Ashanti Limited Announces New Job Offer

Job Title: Senior Officer – Human Resources

ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED, a branch of AngloGold Ashanti Limited, runs the combined Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pit gold mines at Tarkwa in Ghana’s Western Region. The company employs more than 1,400 people, including contractors, who work at the mines.

Role Purpose

To effectively coordinate day-to-day operations and offer technical expertise and guidance in the areas of employee benefits, leave management, talent acquisition, and diversity and inclusion.

Roles and Responsibilities

HR Administration duties:

Keep accurate records and a database of all employee benefits and claims that are paid out, including, but not limited to:

  • Medical claims.
  • Claims from other places
  • Awards for long service.
  • Help with a child’s education

Leave Management:

  • Make a detailed leave schedule or roster and make sure it is followed to effectively manage the mine’s leave obligations.
  • Keep accurate records of employee leave days in SAP and send in monthly leave reports
  • Follow up with employees who have a lot of unused vacation time so that line managers and you can make a plan for vacation time.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Assist in Overseeing the hiring process, which includes communicating with candidates, line managers, and recruitment agencies, writing job descriptions, and conducting interviews in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate well all the steps in the hiring process that happen after the interview, such as pre-employment medical tests and psychometric tests.
  • Plan and hold new employee orientation to encourage a positive attitude toward organizational goals. This includes planning and managing the onboarding process for all new hires.
  • Do exit interviews to find out why an employee is leaving.
  • Take a proactive approach to risk management in the recruitment process by making sure that problems are found, fixed, reported, and, if necessary, escalated.

Diversity and Acceptance:

  • As a technical expert in the field, you will contribute to the mine’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) policy and action plan. This includes managing the initiatives, events, and programs that support the overall goals and objectives.
  • Develop internal campaigns to raise awareness, change the minds of leaders and staff, and make sure that Diversity and Inclusion are a part of the mine as a whole.
  • Work with employees and managers to give advice on diversity and inclusion (D&I) issues and give insight on issues that affect minority groups on the job site.
  • Make reports on a regular basis and come up with ways to measure how well Diversity and Inclusion initiatives are working.
  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate D&I events, workshops, presentations, meetings, and/or training for employees and other important people in the mine.

Qualification

  • BSc Human Resources / Management Studies or its equivalent from reputable institutions
  • Having a professional who is certified in human resources will be a plus.

Experience

  • At least three years’ worth of relevant work experience, preferably in Mining.
  • Experience finding and hiring good people in the mining industry. Experience working on issues like diversity and inclusion, gender equality, and cultural change.

Technical Competencies

  • Shown that they can gather information, put it all together, and write reports.
  • Excellent quality, attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management skills, as well as the ability to work alone and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to a process of always getting better.
  • Microsoft Office and other software needed for the role must be used well.
  • Expert at using SAP’s Human Capital Management (HCM) module and other Human Resource Information Systems.

  • Good people skills and the ability to organize things
  • Good written, spoken, and face-to-face communication skills
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • License to drive and the ability to drive a light vehicle
