Analyst, Risk – Technical at MTN Ghana
Summary of Job:
The main goal of the job is to do thorough risk assessments and/or risk deep dives, analyses, and monitoring of remediation across all technology business units and areas. The role will also be responsible for reporting to the business on risk management processes, in line with the Enterprise Risk strategy and best practices, and giving specialized advice and suggestions when needed.
Key Tasks
- The telco-to-tech scene is becoming more diverse.
- Industry ecosystems are changing.
- Changes in the currency and market that are volatile and unpredictable in the OpCo.
- Compliance with regulations and laws.
- Communicate with divisional Governance champions to make sure that identifying and managing risks in the given divisions is done in a coordinated way.
- Help make sure that comments are made for the Governance Committee Meetings.
- Make sure that entries are always added to the Risk Dashboard.
- Help with the annual or biannual Business Impact Analysis in the given divisions.
- Help do a gap analysis on current risks or problems in important parts of the business, according to the combined plan.
- Help with keeping risk dashboards for top management up to date.
- Help do ERM, BCM, CRM, and IRM Maturity Assessments for the company based on Group’s model.
- Help keep the IT and Network Group’s disaster recovery plans up to date and make sure the processes for the most important systems are always correct.
- Work on the Risk-Based Audit Plan and report on risks to the board’s partners and subcommittees.
- Help make sure the annual plan for risk management is in line with BRM ideas.
- Continuous Control Management:
- Help find areas to include in the CCM;
- Help find and evaluate risks and classify mitigation controls for each risk;
- Make sure management reviews and weighs in on how to solve CCM issues;
- Help get exception reports to management;
- Make sure agreed-upon controls are constantly re-evaluated.

- Frameworks, methods, themes, policies, processes, and routines for risk management.
- A dynamic and highly competitive telecommunications and information and communications technology (ICT) business.
- A multi-regulated environment.
Needed Qualifications and Experience
Education
• A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, computer science, or a related area. • A relevant professional qualification in risk management would be a plus.
Experience
• 3 years of experience in a related area, preferably in IT, telecoms, or financial services. Strong planning and control skills for projects.
Knowledge
- Enterprise Risk Management Methodology or ISO Risk Management Standard 31000
- Models for Process Management and Maturity
- BCM methodologies (ISO 22301 Standard) and reviews include incident and crisis management, emergency preparations, recovery modes and methods, IS Disaster recovery strategies, etc.
- Managing the risks of information security
- Frameworks for corporate governance, such as King IV.
- Know-how about insurance risks.
- Knowledge of industry guidelines for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Business Continuity Management (BCM). E.g. BS 25999/ISO 22301.
- It’s helpful to know the basics of IS infrastructure
- Use of Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Writing a good report.
