POSITION: Consultant – Project Officer
Company Profile
Amplio Ghana is a non-governmental organization in Ghana that has been duly registered with the Registrar General Department and the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection. The organization has been around since 2007 and previously went by the name Literacy Bridge Ghana till 2020.
We are Amplio Network’s country office in the United States, with offices in Washington and Tamale. We specialize in developing and implementing social and behavioral change interventions for vulnerable groups in rural and difficult-to-reach regions (the last mile). Our goal is to empower the world’s most vulnerable communities through knowledge exchange. We also work with government, non-governmental, and civil society organizations to increase the effectiveness of their communication initiatives using the Amplio Talking Book digital solution. More than 1 million Ghanaians have benefited from our social and behavioral transformation programs.
Job Description.
- Contract duration: 6 months.
- Reporting to the Project Manager.
- Workstation: Washington, Upper West Region.
About the position
The project officer will help the project manager (PM) in implementing all project activities in the intervention communities. The Project Officer will be directly responsible for field-level execution, ensuring that all plans and budgets are carried out in a timely and quality manner. This person will also be responsible for all community-level mobilization activities, as well as ensuring the active engagement of community members, including various stakeholder groups, in project activities. Additionally, the Project Officer will collect usage statistics and feedback, as well as create reports on all field activities.
Required Skill or Experience
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree in development studies/management or a similar subject.
- Must be willing to travel frequently to the project villages.
- At least two years of project experience in the NGO or government sectors.
- Capability to work in a group and contribute to organizational team formation.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to effectively advocate for and influence policymakers.
- The ability to analyze is essential for obtaining, evaluating, and interpreting factual data, as well as preparing correct and full reports and documentation.
- Solid understanding and experience in project lifecycle management and financial resource management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to form and sustain successful partnerships and working relationships.
- The ability to communicate in Waali, Dagaare, or Sissali is an extra benefit.
- Ability to ride a motorcycle (Licensed rider).
- Compensation: A competitive charge subject to a mandatory legislative requirement.
