Job Title: DevOps Engineer
Funded by premier investors including GV and Lightspeed, Redpanda is building the streaming data platform for developers. We’re evolving streaming beyond the Apache Kafka® protocol into a unified “engine of record” that delivers a categorical reduction in complexity, wicked-fast performance, onboard Wasm transforms, and transparent tiered storage that gives consumers access to both real-time and historical data from a single API.
You will
- Be a part of our Developer Productivity team, working with all of engineering to support development, QA and overall software delivery activities.
- Design, build and maintain DevOps infrastructure, with usability and agility in mind.
- Build tools & services to automate the deployment and testing of our software.
- Participate in on-call rotations, working to keep developer workloads running and incident free.
Must have
- 3+ years in a DevOps role.
- Public clouds (AWS/GCP/Azure), specifically automating tasks on cloud infrastructure (e.g. via the CLI tools of a cloud vendor).
- Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Pulumi.
- Configuration management frameworks such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, etc.
- Good shell scripting skills. In addition, this role also requires knowledge of Python or Go.
- Automating software delivery tasks in CI/CD systems.
- Building and running containers locally (docker) or on the cloud (k8s).
Nice to have
Applying DevOps in the context of:
- Streaming engine projects such as Kafka or Pulsar.
- Software written in C/C++/Rust.
- Build systems written in CMake, Bazel or Meson.
- Testing frameworks written in Python or Go.
- Data systems on Kubernetes.
- Monitoring software using a metrics collection platform such as Prometheus+Grafana.
