POSITION: Customer Service Engineer
Job Description
The chosen individual will assess, set up, supply, and upkeep Fixed Voice and Broadband Last-mile connections (using Copper and Fibre) and, in certain cases, radio connections to clients.
The position reports to the Senior Customer Service Engineer.
ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT
- Guarantees that only tasks covered by Service Orders and processed by Schedule Controllers are performed at the customers’ locations.
- Departs for customers’ locations only after receiving confirmation from the customer regarding their availability.
- Tests and sets up line drivers, modems, routers, and other customer-end devices.
- Utilizes a tool to reach the Job Manager for all field tasks to address assigned jobs by schedule controllers for all Surveys, Installations, and Repair tasks and upholds high quality workmanship standards while being efficient and cost effective.
- Modifies job status with appropriate resolution codes and consistently obtains customer approval while guaranteeing that all tasks are performed in accordance with the Organisation’s safety standards.
- Guarantees that Network/Data records are revised upon job completion.
Required Skills or Experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Electronics and Electrical Engineering Section II or a comparable course.
- In-depth understanding of telecommunications network design.
- Practical experience with IP networks and their infrastructure
- Experience in the design and/or implementation of the last mile of lease lines, WAN, and data services.
- Familiarity and expertise in IP/MPLS VPN technologies
- Fundamental PABX Setup
- Having a CCNA certification is a beneficial asset.
- Must have a clear driving record and hold a valid driving license.
- Connectivity from point to point and from point to multipoint offers an additional benefit.
- Fundamental IT abilities
