POSITION: Senior Transaction Manager

Our client is a fast-growing Christian church organization with a substantial and varied real estate portfolio throughout Africa. We are looking for a skilled Head of Real Estate to guide our client’s regional growth in real estate, ensuring the strategic and effective handling of acquisitions, disposals, leases, and comprehensive asset management.

About the Position
As an essential part of the Regional Property Leadership Team, the Senior Real Estate Transaction Manager will oversee strategic transaction management throughout the client’s varied portfolio, which includes Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Malawi, and Namibia. This advanced position requires proactively overseeing and carrying out deals that correspond with the company’s growth objectives.
This will be accomplished by grasping how the client’s values can affect and shape real estate choices, guaranteeing that our method successfully addresses our client’s specific real estate requirements.
Main Duties
Transaction Management
- Manage an annual program of acquisitions, sales, subleases, closures, and renewals to enhance property positions.
- Oversee project execution and reporting, guaranteeing consistency with client needs, financial management, and strategic objectives.
Reporting
- Make sure to promptly and accurately update the CBRE CRM Tool, TransAct, with assistance from the Centre of Excellence team.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to synchronize property strategies with the church’s growth initiatives.
- Create and deliver business cases for real estate deals, obtaining internal consents.
- Work together with Project Management teams to ensure smooth project implementation and KPI fulfillment.
Governance & Risk
- Make sure that all transaction management actions adhere to the organization’s standards and procedures.
- Oversee, elevate, and reduce risks within the organization’s operational risk structure.
Finance
- Create, oversee, and assess performance in relation to the yearly real estate budget.
- Carry out additional tasks as directed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or comparable qualification (preferably in Real Estate or a related field).
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Facilities Management, Business, Finance, or a similar field.
- At least 7+ years in the real estate sector, with experience in management.
- Background in commercial buying, selling, and leasing transactions.
- It is necessary to register with the PPRA.
- Applicants possessing a respected real estate qualification (RICS or equivalent) will hold a clear edge.
- Robust ethical principles in decision-making, financial management, and stakeholder involvement.
- Demonstrated capability to connect with senior stakeholders and sway decision-making.
- Understanding of risk management in a fluctuating real estate landscape.
- Proficiency in accounting, budgeting, and financial assessment.
- Robust business insight combined with exceptional presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Capacity to handle multiple tasks and perform effectively in a culturally diverse setting.
- Robust organizational and prioritization abilities to handle a diverse workload.
- Outstanding oral and written communication abilities.
- Skill in analyzing and interpreting intricate corporate documents.
- Ability to manage delicate and private issues efficiently.
- Robust report-writing abilities, leveraging data-informed insights.
- Skill in providing convincing presentations on intricate real estate subjects.
- Skill in negotiating and impacting important stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Proficiency in English is crucial.
- Capability to advocate for the client in conversations with local officials.
