Goldfields Ghana Limited Calls for Job Applications
POSITION: Driver
The Finance Department of Abosso Goldfields Limited – Damang Mine is looking to hire a qualified individual for the role of Driver. The individual in this role will be tasked with safely and cost-effectively transporting employees and other stakeholders for business or special assignments, thereby significantly contributing to meeting established production targets.
Main Duties
- Perform daily inspections and pre-start evaluations on vehicles, and finish the necessary vehicle pre-start check list
- Drive vehicles in line with the company’s transportation protocols safely and promptly, delivering employees, baggage, and other parties to different locations for work-related purposes
- Prepare and deliver reports regarding accidents, vehicle malfunctions, and repairs to the Supervisor, and offer feedback once the assigned tasks are finished.
- Confirm adherence to the standards set by the Ghana Road Traffic Act & Regulations
- Consistently engage in cost-saving measures and enhance productivity for the tasks assigned.
- Keep logs of driving hours and vehicle mileage.
- Make sure vehicle insurance and roadworthiness are consistently current.
- Keep vehicles in a safe and tidy state.
- Follow the GFG Road Journey Management Procedure.
Requirements
- Certificate of Basic Education / Middle School Completion Certificate (MSLC) or a comparable qualification
- A legitimate Ghanaian driver’s license “C” and skill in driving
- 3 to 4 years of driving experience within a multinational company or mining setting.
- Expertise in defensive driving techniques and a strong understanding of traffic signs and regulations.
- Safety-oriented, respectful, timely, and uphold the confidentiality of information consistently.
- Strong understanding of Ghana’s geographic layout.
- Strong communication skills along with the capability to engage with individuals from various cultural backgrounds.
- Predicts, strategizes, and responds swiftly and adaptively to evolving situations.
- The capacity to read, write, and communicate in English fluently and precisely will be beneficial.
