POSITION: Blended Finance Specialist
Global Affairs Canada, via the High Commission of Canada in Ghana, aims to recruit a Blended Finance (BF) Specialist to offer expert analysis and guidance on innovative finance planning and management matters, trends, and practices relevant to the sustainability of the Modernising Agriculture in Ghana Programme (MAG).
Position Overview
- The BF Specialist will offer technical guidance and assistance to the Ghana development program related to enhancing capacity through innovative finance initiatives in agriculture and climate-smart agriculture.
- This client might request the Specialist to expand the mandate to Climate Finance to discover blended financing options to enhance adaptation to climate change within the agricultural sector.
- The BF Specialist will offer technical guidance and assistance for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Ghana (MAG) program as required.
Requirements
The consultant should possess the following expertise and credentials:
- Experience in monitoring or evaluating blended finance programs associated with international development funding.
- The consultant must possess the subsequent experience and skills.
- A master’s degree from a recognized higher education establishment
- Pertinent work experience in Ghana, Sub-Sahara Africa, or in a country eligible for ODA
- Proven experience offering technical advisory services on blended finance matters to bilateral or multilateral organizations.
- Understanding of Ghana’s agricultural and agribusiness sectors
- Proven experience collaborating with government and/or donors in a technical role on various impact investment topics, focusing on project planning, budgeting, and monitoring, including participation in government-donor coordination groups.
- Outstanding skills in English writing and presentation
