POSITION: Legal Officer
Position Overview

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
The successful applicant will assist the Legal Team, especially the litigation team, in carrying out tasks with diligence.
This position reports to the Litigation Manager.
POSITION SPECIFIC
- Supports the Transactions Unit in the preparation and evaluation of agreements.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, witness statements, and various court documents.
- Compose letters, demand notices, and additional correspondence.
- Gathers evidence and performs research on legal precedents.
- Maintains a log of modifications in the legislation.
- Appears in court to advocate for the company as a party involved in the proceedings.
- Participates in hearings at quasi-judicial entities like the National Labour Commission (NLC) and the Electronic Telecommunications Tribunal (ETC).
- Oversees case files within the Litigation Unit.
- Handles both internal and external communication within document files.
- Performs designated duties at the Companies’ Registry, Lands Commission, and various other institutions.
- Performs general legal research for the Legal Department
Necessary Skills or Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- Possesses a Qualifying and Practising Certificate in Law.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- It is essential to possess a solid understanding of courtroom procedures and administrative functions.
- Essential to possess skills in record-keeping and management.
