POSITION: Pharmacist

Job Description

Our customer is Ghana’s top pharmaceutical company. The organization is now looking for a hands-on Pharmacist to verify that drugs and other health-related items administered to clients are safe and acceptable.

Key Accountabilities

• Dispense pharmaceutical and medical products prescribed by doctors to customers.
• Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy and suitability for the patient.
• Provide information and guidance about pharmaceuticals and other health-related goods, including side effects, optimal dosage, and storage.
• Help consumers by assessing symptoms and offering quick treatment, or direct them to an appropriate physician.
• Provide pharmaceutical care advice to patients about drug interactions.
• Provide pharmaceutical expertise to consumers regarding the safe use of drugs.
• Monitor customers’ prescription regimens to prevent interactions with other medications.
• Review and interpret physicians’ directions, and assist in addressing any therapeutic incompatibility issues.
• Provide professional advice to management on the necessary product items to stock in each pharmacological class.
• Monitor current and existing trends in the community/retail pharmacy business to update and enhance pharmacy practices.
• Provide unique ideas and demonstrate great business skills to develop and keep the pharmacy competitive.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, PharmD, or M.Pharm.
• A member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana with a valid pharmacist license.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar job.
