POSITION: Asset Management Manager

About This Role:

  • Manage the asset lifetime to maximize performance, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
  • This position oversees underground, open pit, processing, and non-processing infrastructure.
  • We are looking for an experienced Asset Management Manager to oversee the management of mobile assets in both open and underground mines, fixed plants, and non-processing infrastructure.
  • Will be in charge of all regulatory certification and statutory compliance for personnel and assets on site.

In this role, you will

  • Lead mobile, fixed, non-processing infrastructure (NPI), engineering, and asset planning on-site.
  • Drive ongoing improvement in asset management.
  • Create a safe work atmosphere.
  • Examine asset health.
  • Initiate dependability initiatives.
  • Optimize asset performance.
  • Develop asset management strategy and maintenance plans.
  • Maintain budget and expense control for asset management.
  • Identify pertinent hazards, implement mitigation strategies, and conduct ongoing risk assessments.
  • Foster an inclusive environment in which team members feel comfortable contributing, collaborating, receiving feedback, and coaching.
  • Compliance and safety for all maintenance assets.
  • Data analysis and reporting for all assets.
  • Team leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams from Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to align asset management strategies with overall business goals.

Your Training, Skills, and Experience Checklist

Formal qualifications (including professional registrations):

  • Educational background in Mechanical Engineering, Asset Management, or a comparable engineering discipline.

Additional Knowledge

  • Knowledge developed via work experience with asset performance optimization and safety-focused activities.
  • Essential soft skills for leadership and support roles.
  • Expertise in budget management and risk mitigation.
  • Asset Strategy Development.

Experience

  • A minimum of ten years of expertise in asset management, preferably in the mining and heavy rock industries, with an emphasis on mobile and fixed equipment maintenance.

Problem-solving Ability

  • Understanding patterns within a single field of knowledge allows you to improve and refine existing systems as well as create new ones.
  • Recognize data links inside a system based on a flow of actual occurrences.
  • Consider different approaches to achieving a goal by creating chains of hypothetical activities.
  • Create and test hypotheses about a single area of knowledge.
  • Determine the distinction between exceptional and systemic causes.

Technical Skills

  • Determine practical application proficiency in asset management techniques, dependability efforts, and risk mitigation that will best support these activities inside the organization.
  • The function also requires expertise with budget management and safety regulations, as well as the ability to carry out specific tasks using appropriate tools and processes to reach predetermined business results.

Social Process Skills

  • Self-awareness entails being aware of oneself, adapting behavior to the situation, learning from interactions, seeking feedback, and prioritizing company goals over personal interests while managing any stress or conflict that may arise.
  • Understand team dynamics and behaviors, manage disagreements, and create an inclusive environment for collaboration and feedback.
  • Collaboration: Establish solid relationships with stakeholders by understanding, influencing, and bargaining to accomplish productive results while balancing positive interactions and task completion.

Working Conditions

The post is located at the Newmont Ahafo South Mine.
