Nandom Rural Bank PLC, a reputable rural bank in the Upper West region, seeks a proactive, result-oriented, and inventive candidate to fill the vacant post of: Chief Executive Officer

Key Job Responsibilities

• Develop policies and procedures to carry out the bank’s work and implement board decisions and strategies.
• Provide leadership and guidance by coordinating activities across departments and agencies to achieve the bank’s objectives.
• Coordinate the preparation of the bank’s strategic plan and budgets, ensuring efficient management of human and physical resources to achieve organizational goals.
• Manage the bank’s day-to-day operations and report to the Board of Directors.
• Submit accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly prudential returns to the Bank of Ghana, ARB Apex Bank, and other stakeholders. Comply with the Banks and Specialized Deposit-Taking Institutions Act 2016 (Act 930), ARB Apex Bank regulations 2006 (LI 1825), and the Companies Act.
• Foster collaboration with the Bank of Ghana and ARB Apex Bank, as well as other financial institutions and external bodies.
• Submit management reports and technical papers to the board for decision-making.
• Maintain a peaceful and harmonious industrial working environment.

Qualifications & Experience

• A minimum of a first degree in banking, accounting, finance, or a similar discipline from a recognized university, plus at least 10 years of professional experience in the financial business, including 5 years in senior management positions. OR
• A professional qualification in ACIB, ICAG, ACCA, or any similar professional qualification, plus at least 7 years of post-qualification experience in banking, including at least 4 years in senior management.
• Experience in a rural banking setting is strongly preferred.

Knowledge

• Extensive knowledge of the banking industry, trends, and changes, as well as current regulatory frameworks
• Thorough understanding of the operations and services of rural and community banks, particularly the operational risks associated with RCBs.
• Thorough understanding of local banking legislations, including but not limited to the ARB Apex Bank LTD rules, 2006 (L.I 1825), Banks and specialized deposit-taking Institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930), Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992), etc.
• Must have an understanding of fundamental banking applications, particularly the T24 R20 Banking software application.

Skills

• Responsibilities include strategic leadership, stakeholder management, people management, problem-solving, analytical skills, MS Office proficiency, drive, initiative, business acumen, and a focus on results.
