RisingSun Montessori School LTD is seeking a Creative Arts Teacher (Primary).

Duties and responsibilities

• Provides learning opportunities and teaches the course of study outlined in the District-approved curriculum.
• Instructs students in art techniques such as painting, sketching, design, and sculpture; creates lesson plans and sets course objectives.
• Individual and group instruction is provided to fulfill the needs of each student and motivate them.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student control necessary for effective participation in all activities.
• Chooses books and art supplies for classes. Shows students the method and procedure.
• Observe and evaluate students’ work to assess student progress or provide recommendations for improvement.
• Provides pupils with appropriate teaching and activities to help them accomplish school/district policies, goals, and objectives.
• Accompany pupils on field excursions to museums and art galleries.
• Art teachers may specialize in one or more fields, such as illustration, art history, or commercial art.
• May direct the organization and management of student contests, as well as the arrangement of art shows.
• Communicates with parents using a variety of methods.
• Identifies student needs and collaborates with other professional staff members to examine and assist students with health, attitude, and learning challenges.
• Creates an effective learning environment by using useful and visually appealing community displays such as bulletin boards, interest centers, art galleries, art walks, and so on.
• Maintains professional competency through district-provided in-service education activities, as well as professional development opportunities and university courses.
• Collaborates with the appropriate administration to determine the mechanism by which s/he will be evaluated in accordance with district policies.
• Selects and requisitions instructional materials; keeps inventory records.
• Participates in school-wide monitoring of students during non-classroom activities.
• Participates in faculty and/or district committees, and sponsors student activities.
• Performs additional relevant tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proficient in teaching RME and History (Upper Primary)
• 2 to 3 years of teaching experience
• Diploma in Education
• Proximity to the school is preferred.
