POSITION: React Team Unit Manager
Job Summary
The Operations Manager for the Rapid React Team (RRT) is in charge of planning, coordinating, and carrying out time-sensitive deployments of systems, humans, and equipment in response to customer calls.
This OM will ensure that deployment activities are efficient, effective, and on time while adhering to safety, quality, and performance standards. The position requires excellent leadership, logistical experience, and the ability to manage complex operations in fast-paced, high-pressure circumstances.
Key Responsibilities
Deployment planning and execution
- Oversee and manage the whole deployment process, ensuring that all individuals, systems, and resources are ready for rapid mobilization and deployment.
- Work with cross-functional teams to create deployment strategy and contingency plans.
- Coordinate equipment readiness and deployment while adhering to operating timelines.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure that deployments adhere to all safety, regulatory, and compliance standards.
Team Leadership and Management
- Lead, coach, and manage deployment teams, ensuring that personnel are properly trained, informed, and prepared for rapid deployment operations.
- Monitor staff performance during deployment activities to ensure that defined standards and regulations are followed.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination among team members, ensuring that operational concerns are addressed swiftly.
- Create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration inside the response unit.
Resource and Asset Management
- Keep track of all resources and assets required for reactive deployments, such as trucks, equipment, and systems.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained, tested, and available for deployment on short notice.
- Manage procurement and logistics, ensuring timely delivery for all operations.
- Maintain budgetary limitations, optimize resource allocation, and assure cost-effective deployment solutions.
Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement
- Continuously assess the efficacy of deployment methods and make operational changes.
- Create and develop operating procedures and best practices to improve deployment speed and efficiency.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for deployment success, cost, and operational preparedness.
- Organise post-deployment debriefs and process reviews, and ensure that lessons learnt are applied to future operations.
Crisis and Incident Management
- As the primary point of contact during operations, oversee crisis management and incident response.
- Create and maintain contingency plans and practices to address unexpected obstacles or emergencies during deployment.
- Ensure that any disruptions are properly reported and communicated to top management and relevant stakeholders.
Compliance and Safety Management
- Ensure that all deployment operations follow applicable legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Implement safety measures and perform regular audits, training, and drills.
- Collaborate with compliance officers to address any operational noncompliance and proactively resolve issues.
Required Skill or Experience
Skills and Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, logistics, business administration, or a similar discipline. An advanced degree or certification in security operations or logistics management is advantageous.
- 5+ years of expertise in operations management, logistics, or fast deployment operations, with a proven track record of handling high-risk projects.
- A solid understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and resource allocation.
- Proven expertise in leading cross-functional teams and complicated operations in time-sensitive situations.
- Excellent ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
- Experience in risk assessment, crisis management, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and any logistical software.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication abilities for dealing with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to go to destinations on short notice for operational tasks as needed.

- Ability to go to destinations on short notice for operational tasks as needed.
- Salary is commensurate with experience and includes competitive perks (to be explored further).
