POSITION: Executive Director

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all GILLBT operations, including the organization’s spiritual and strategic corporate orientation, as well as compliance with all local and international statutory obligations.
  • Plan and chair Executive Leadership Team (ELT) meetings.
  • Conduct appraisals for the heads of directorates
  • Develop policy ideas and conduct our strategic planning for the company, ensuring that strategic plans are frequently reviewed, updated, and executed, and developing and monitoring the organization’s annual corporate budget and work plan.
  • Coordinate resource mobilization (fundraising).
  • Attend international Bible translation organization gatherings, such as Wycliffe Bible Translation, SIL International, and any other international conferences when invited.
  • Maintain and manage connections and communication with strategic partners, including donors, churches, universities, and government organizations.
  • Serve as the GILLBT’s representative in all dealings with individual contributors, churches, government entities, and other institutions around the country.
  • Represent the GILLBT to partner organizations and stakeholders in Ghana and internationally, including attending worldwide Bible Translation Organization meetings and other international conferences on behalf of the GILLBT.
  • Lead the implementation of language policy, visit and strengthen language initiatives, and provide leadership in consultant development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree with at least ten years of managerial experience
  • Capability to manage people and projects in cross-cultural environments.
  • Be a Bible-believing Christian.
  • Willingness to live and work in Tamale and Accra.
  • Capacity to work long hours with minimal supervision
  • Have a firm understanding of and experience working in the NGO setting, particularly the Christian one, in both the international and local environment.
  • Capable of maintaining and developing relationships with all GILLBT stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication abilities.

Supervisory Roles:

  • Reports directly to the board of directors.

Directly Supervised

  • Director, Field Programme Department
  • Director of Operations Department.
  • Director of Advancement Department
  • Director of Finance Department.

Location: Accra.
