POSITION: Senior Associate – Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS)
As a Senior Associate in Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCSS), you’ll be responsible for guiding customers through the intricacies of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) challenges. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to, advising clients on how to incorporate sustainability into their operations, manage climate-related risks, and comply with increasing requirements.
You will be a member of a team that delivers insights into sustainability initiatives, climate change mitigation, decarbonization, and sustainability reporting. This position demands a thorough awareness of climate change and sustainability challenges, as well as analytical abilities and the ability to successfully engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Some Areas of Responsibility
- Lead and support client engagements for climate change and sustainability strategy.
- Create and deliver sustainable assessments, strategies, and action plans.
- Inform clients on climate risk management, carbon footprint reduction, and sustainability reporting.
- Assist customers in generating sustainability reports that adhere to international frameworks (e.g., GRI, TCFD, SASB, ISSB).
- Ensure compliance with environmental rules and reporting requirements.
- Provide recommendations on how to include sustainability metrics in financial and non-financial reporting.
- Conduct a climate risk assessment, including scenario analysis and resilience planning.
- Advise clients on climate change regulations, including disclosures and compliance.
- Collaborate with clients to create and implement sustainable strategies that meet their company objectives.
- Identify how clients can lower their environmental impact and improve their sustainability performance.
- Manage project timetables, finances, and deliverables to achieve high-quality outputs.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to complete projects on schedule and within scope.
- Engage with diverse stakeholders, including senior management, regulators, investors, and community groups.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and presentations to increase capacity for sustainability challenges.
- Research and analyze worldwide trends, legislation, and best practices for sustainability and climate change.
- Research emerging sustainability challenges and share insights with clients and internal teams.
- Support business development activities such as proposal preparation, client presentations, and market analysis.
- Identify new options for service offerings and contribute to the firm’s sustainability practice.
Education and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, climate change, engineering, geography, or a closely related discipline.
- A master’s degree or equivalent certificates (such as LEED, ISO 14001, and SASB) are highly desirable.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of expertise in sustainability consulting, climate change advising, or a similar industry.
- Proven track record of completing sustainability projects, ideally in a consultancy setting.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, TCFD, SASB, and ISSB).
- Experience using climate risk assessment tools and procedures.
- Knowledge of data analysis, environmental modeling, and carbon accounting software.
