Job Vacancy at Council Of State Ghana
A prominent public service organization is seeking applications from suitable individuals for the role of Director of Research and Technical Services.
Job Purpose
- Provide leadership, technical, and administrative direction in research and technical services to meet the council’s mandate.
Duties and responsibilities
- Contributes to council policy formulation
- Oversees resource management in the Directorate
- Ensures policy and program implementation
- Develops guidelines, standards, and procedures for research and technical services
- Maintains a disaggregated database of the council’s programs and activities.
- Identifies research areas and develops proposals and instruments.
- Monitors and evaluates council programs and activities.
- Compiles periodic research and technical reports.
- Manages the database.
- Coordinates and implements annual and periodic plans for the council and the directorate.
- Prepares budget proposals for the directorate to be included in the council’s annual budget.
- Implements performance management policy in the directorate.
- Supervises and evaluates subordinate staff performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Requirements for this position include a Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, 10 years of relevant work experience, 5 years in a senior management position (e.g., Deputy Director) in a reputable institution, and membership in a relevant professional body.

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Strong negotiating, investigative, qualitative, quantitative, analytical, data management, and monitoring and evaluation skills
- Fundraising, lobbying, and resource mobilization skills
- Strong understanding of international relations
- Extensive experience
