POSITION: Senior Project Manager
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for delivering Complex Projects and/or Programs under the Group Project Management Policy and Framework.
He/she should ensure that the program delivered meets business expectations and that projects and programs are registered on the approved project portal, with key deliverables defined for each stage/phase of the project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling, and closure, as well as Agile/Scrum methodology where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex projects and programs
- Business applications such as consumer banking, corporate banking, investment banking, treasury, risk, procurement, and auditing.

- Ensure that offered solutions match company requirements.
- Manage site and application delivery within an Agile development context.
- Participate in defining and documenting digital product features.
- Participate in and lead design sessions, collaborating with the team/designer to document wireframes, design, and user experience.
- Review and collaborate with the technical team to bring the product to life.
- Oversee the QA and testing process, and collaborate with the team to ensure all features are tested and working effectively.
- Participate in the continuous evaluation of new technology and services.
- Solicit feedback from all levels of the organization, including senior management, and prioritize and incorporate pertinent comments into the mobile and digital product offerings.
- Use Project Management Methodology, standards, and processes for implementing projects/programs.
- Ensure that all initiative approval conditions are met before they begin.
- Ensure that all project/program information is complete, up to date, and recorded in the project repository.
- Create and manage program schedules.
- Identify resource requirements, secure resource assignments, and monitor implementation.
- Identify the stakeholders.
- Manage the project/program’s scope, schedule, and cost to ensure that functional and quality expectations are met.
- Plan and attend project governance meetings.
- Manage project/program finances.
- Manage the product/service’s transition to the responsible technical operations unit.
- Provide accurate project/program status updates to relevant stakeholders under the agreed-upon format and frequency.
- Collaborate with the Organizational Change Management function to develop and implement a benefit realization plan and change management strategy for the projects/programs.
- Ensure that Central Design Authority, Information Security, Test and Version Control, and
- Change Approval Board (CAB) approvals are received throughout the project’s lifecycle.
JOB CONTEXT
- In charge of implementing difficult projects and programs for Ecobank’s business and technology departments.
- Ensure that all projects and programs adhere to the Group Project Management Policy and Framework.
- Create and maintain a precise project schedule that includes administrative chores as well as all project sites.

- Delivery / Implementation of assigned business initiatives/projects and/or programs on time, within budget, according to scope, and with the appropriate quality.
- Communication of status, reporting, and stakeholder participation is timely and accurate.
Accountability metrics
Deliver given projects and programs on time, within budget, according to approved scope, with quality, stakeholder engagement, and resource management.
DELIVERABLES
- Deliver the product/outcome/solution that was intended when the initiative was approved.
- Accurate and timely reporting of project/program status to stakeholders.
- Management of project/program resources (budget, engineers, and vendors) to ensure that the effort meets its objectives.
Skills Required
- A minimum of a B.Sc./HND in information technology and a Master’s degree in business administration are recommended.
- 8–12 years of expertise in delivering complex projects and programs.
- Must hold Project Management Certification (PMP, Prince 2) or Agile/Scrum certification.
- Must have program management training. Certification is a plus.
- Fluency in French is a bonus.
Specific work skills:
- Very good understanding of bank IT systems.
- Knowledge of technology (database management, networks, operating systems, disaster recovery, BCM, internet, extranet, client/server and n-tier architecture, servers, security, etc.)
- Exposure to technology management standards such as ITIL, COBIT, and TOGAF is beneficial.
- Exposure to or knowledge of the following areas is advantageous: business applications, technology infrastructure, or card operations.
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
- Strong analytical and documentation capabilities.
