POSITION: Ghana Country Director

CorpsAfrica, founded in 2011, offers opportunities for Africans to volunteer in their nations. Over the past decade, CorpsAfrica has steadily expanded its operations from Morocco to Senegal, Malawi, Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia, The Gambia, and Uganda. Overview of the position:

CorpsAfrica is seeking a mission-driven, experienced, strategic, and process-oriented leader to oversee the CorpsAfrica program in Ghana. The Ghana Country Director will build on the solid foundation established for the Ghana program over the previous two years. He or she must be willing to take risks and be innovative while maintaining a strong commitment to the mission and strategy. He or she will have exhibited a passion and dedication to youth leadership development, participatory community development, impact evaluation, transparency, and accountability. The Ghana Country Director will report directly to CorpsAfrica’s Regional Director.

  • REPORTS TO: Regional Director for Country Offices.

Specific Responsibilities

  • As Country Director, you will oversee CorpsAfrica’s operations in Ghana.
  • Ensure that CorpsAfrica’s operational and strategic plans are met in Ghana.
  • Oversee key aspects of the operation, such as Volunteer recruitment, pre-and in-service training programs, deployment of Volunteers to selected sites across the country, collaboration with communities and appropriate government authorities at all levels, and ongoing support for Volunteers – providing guidance, mentorship, networking opportunities, and so on.
  • Take responsibility and manage the organization’s resources.
  • Provide solid financial monitoring and budget management while maintaining compliance with all laws and regulations.
  • Implement policies and processes to ensure a successful and efficient operation.
  • Raise funding for CorpsAfrica/Ghana by discovering and developing potential donors, preparing proposals, arranging events, extensive networking, and more.
  • Manage and supervise passionate, dedicated, and fun-loving employees.
  • Collaborate with the local board for CorpsAfrica/Ghana to further the cause of the organization.
  • Represent the organization in public settings, including local and national media.
  • Establish and maintain close working connections with a varied range of Development Partners.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports on progress to our funders.
  • Other obligations as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in a related discipline, plus at least six years of senior management experience.
  • Broad financial skills, including experience in budgeting, planning, and accounting.
  • Excellent leadership qualities, particularly in listening and humility.
  • Excellent speaking and writing abilities are required; computer skills are essential.
  • A hands-on management approach and the capacity to handle and solve problems as they occur.
  • Be diplomatic, of the utmost integrity, with sound judgment and a sense of humour.
