POSITION: Crewing Officer
An aggressive and market-leading recruitment operation for standby, AHTS/rescue, and multipurpose vessels in West Africa is currently seeking a CREWING OFFICER to join their young team in Tema.
Responsibilities
This tough role is a fascinating and lucrative opportunity, and you will be responsible for the following:
MANAGING CREW CHANGES FOR ASSIGNED VESSELS
- Organizing and coordinating crew travel and expenses for off and on signers.
- Evaluates candidates, papers, and English language skills, and arranges equivalent credentials for both new entrants and existing marine workers to guarantee they are all valid at all times.
- Ensure all crew members have the necessary course certifications based on the specified training and certification matrix. Recruit from A-Z with little supervision utilizing an in-house recruiting and quality manual.
- Liaise with external training providers to ensure industry-specific certification (stcw95) is kept up to date.
- Ensure that correct and timely information is distributed to relevant departments, agents, agencies, and crew members.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate should have the following:
- Educated to a higher level or equivalent, previous knowledge or experience in technical recruitments or HR roles would be beneficial.
- Have previous maritime knowledge.
- Have past crewing, recruitment, or HR experience.
- Excellent computer and report writing skills.
- Strong administrative abilities and the ability to operate under pressure and meet deadlines are essential.
