POSITION: Project Officer

Company Profile

Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG). An NGO, a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), and a leading provider of sexual and reproductive health education and services.

Job Description.

Duties and responsibilities include reporting directly to the facility head-tech man and indirectly to the youth program manager.

  • Project Implementation: Assist with the coordination and implementation of project activities under the project plan, ensuring that timeframes, budgets, and quality requirements are met.
  • Capacity Building: Provide capacity-building sessions and training workshops for project staff, volunteers, and community members to help them improve their knowledge and abilities in SRHR and related fields.
  • Documentation and reporting: Create project reports, case studies, success stories, and other related documents to highlight project accomplishments and lessons learned.
  • Advocacy and Networking: Represent PPAG and the project at relevant meetings, workshops, conferences, and forums, advocating for SRHR concerns and building relationships with important stakeholders.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay current on emerging trends, best practices, and creative techniques in SRHR and related domains, and use this knowledge to improve project effectiveness.
  • Lead youth development initiatives. Supervise Youth Facilitators and Peer Educators to ensure successful and efficient project execution. Encourage the establishment of volunteer branches in the region and enhance the abilities of both staff and volunteers to perform their duties.
  • Organize effective and efficient outreach services, and make sure that excellent reports are submitted on time.
  • Coordinate digital health interventions and marketing.
  • Document all project activities, lessons learned, and best practices for compiling all reports (program and financial). Monthly, quarterly, half-year, and annual
  • Begin the creation of unique programmes and projects for proposal writing.
  • Support the association’s resource mobilization efforts through partnership engagement, concept development, proposal drafting, and other related tasks.
  • Performs additional related duties as specified by the supervisor/SM.

Required Skill or Experience

Qualifications & Experience

  • Have a first degree in the Sciences, Social Sciences/Psychology, or comparable subjects with a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in a similar role.

The Person Must Have:

  • Have a solid knowledge of the current reproductive and sexual health issues.
  • Requirements: Proficient computer abilities, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience managing workers and working with young people is advantageous.
  • Have a great sense of responsibility, accuracy, and discernment.
  • Capable of working alone with little or no supervision
  • Be able to work under pressure and for long hours.
  • Must be a team player who can take initiative.
  • Must be Youth-friendly.
