Development Bank Ghana (DBG) is looking to hire a Chief Data Officer.

Role Summary

• The Chief Data Officer leads DBG’s data strategy to enhance wholesale banking. • Primary responsibilities include driving forward the data strategy, establishing and executing the Data Governance Framework, and managing the Governance Committee.
• The post holder will report to the Vice President of Economics and Research, with an emphasis on using data as a strategic asset and improving DBG’s operational effectiveness and market competitiveness.

Qualifications & Experience

• At least 10 years of experience managing data functions in banking, financial services, or other relevant sectors is required.
• A Master’s or PhD in Engineering or a related field is required.
• Professional certification or membership in Ghana or abroad is preferred. For example, credentials relating to cloud computing, data science, or data engineering
• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective data strategies
• Expertise in data management technologies, analytics tools, and cloud platforms for driving business insights
• Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and risk management
• Understanding of wholesale banking operations and regulatory requirements.

• Demonstrates good leadership and communication abilities, as well as knowledge of wholesale and development banking operations, financial products, and regulatory needs.

Location: Accra.
