POSITION: Financial Controller
Company Description:
VAAL Real Estate Ghana is an international real estate company with 20 years of industry experience. With its headquarters in Istanbul, Turkey, and a significant presence in Kenya, VAAL has now entered the Ghanaian real estate market. VAAL provides luxurious European-style apartments in Accra’s key locales, like as Airport City, Cantonments, and Labone.
Role Description
- Provide strategic financial leadership to the accounting department, ensuring that it aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Oversee the creation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and laws.
- Ensure that all tax requirements are followed, and that tax filings are completed correctly and on schedule.
- Manage and optimise cash flow by keeping track of cash balances, projecting cash needs, and adopting cash management methods.
- As the key connection with external auditors, you will coordinate the annual audit process and ensure that it is completed on time.
- Create and manage financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required, with a preferred CPA designation.
- 10 years of advanced experience in accounting and finance, including leadership positions.
- A thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Real estate or construction experience is essential.
- Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
