2023 University of Alicante Sub-Saharan Africa Women Researchers Programme
The University of Alicante Sub-Sahran Africa Women Researchers Project 2023 is now accepting applications. The grants are intended for female researchers who are in the predoctoral or postdoctoral stages of their careers and who are citizens of one of the nations listed in this call. These researchers must complete their training by conducting brief research stays at the UA for the purpose of developing their doctoral thesis or other research.
In the time frame following the publishing of the decision of the grants on the website of the University Cooperation for Development Area, the length of the stay will be at least one month and no more than three months (90 days).
Grants
According to the length of the stay, the grant money will be distributed as follows:
- Monthly lodging: €2,000 (if traveling from Spain)
- Monthly lodging: €2,500 (if traveling from Africa)
- 2. Months: €3,500
- €4,500 for a 3-month stay
Eligibility
Before the deadline for application submission, the grant recipients must fulfill the following obligations.
All in all:
They must originate from Sudan and the Sub-Saharan African nations on this list.
not be awarded a grant of a similar kind to complete the requested stay at the UA.
Implement the grant’s activity objective within the time frame specified in this request.
not engage in any of the situations mentioned in Law 38/2003, General Subsidies, Article 13.2.
Without a resident permit for any purpose other than studies in Spain
On a particular basis:
Postgraduate short stays and doctoral stays:
- Own citizenship established in this call from one of the African nations.
- Being enrolled in a postgraduate or doctoral program at an institution in one of the African nations covered by these regulations.
- Having already received a research team’s approval from the University of Alicante.
Short stays after a doctorate:
- Own a citizenship established in this call from one of the African nations.
- Obtain a doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
- Having already gotten a research team from the University of Alicante to accept them
Application
Submitted supporting documentation, in separate documents, in PDF format:
Personal Statement
- A passport, NIE, or other forms of identification from your own country; a doctoral, master’s, or undergraduate degree, as applicable, attesting to the level of study;
- Accreditation of the finished publications
- Acceptance letter from the University of Alicante’s research team
- Any evidence supporting the merits stated in the form.
