POSITION: AFRICA SOURCING SPECIALIST – IM&S

ROLE

For this reason, reporting to the Head of Procurement, Africa, we are looking for an Africa Sourcing Specialist who will be in charge of Indirect Materials and Services. The role’s focus will be on Wilmar’s operations in different countries in Africa. Total in-scope spending of ~$100 million per annum.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and suggest cost savings and optimization initiatives
• Key decision maker on large-value purchases. Will consolidate group orders for better negotiation and pricing.
• Gathering of market intelligence and information required by the supply management team
• Prepare presentations to update all relevant departments on strategy and agency
• Oversee all RFI’s, RFQ, and RFPs within the company and ensure all details required are within the guideline of the company’s compliance framework
• Provide recommendations on streamlining and improvement of the procurement process
• Manage the supplier’s performance by reviewing their performance on a quarterly basis

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 10 years of business experience including 5-8 years in a similar role within a manufacturing company.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business.
  • Experienced in spearheading projects or supplier transitions with large matrix collaboration across the organization
• Experienced in the implementation of end-to-end procurement strategy and processes.
• Experience in FMCG or similar industry.
• SAP and Ariba experience
• Experience working across multiple geographies
