MEDA is seeking qualified candidates for an experienced and skillful candidates to support an anticipated project that will increase economic and social empowerment of smallholder women farmers, entrepreneurs, and agribusinesses in Northern Ghana. The successful candidate will be based in Tamale, Ghana. Recruitment is contingent upon approval of the project by the donor.
The Agriculture Value Chain Manager will provide technical and leadership support in developing the targeted value chains (soybean, groundnut, and vegetables) in the Upper West, Northern and Savanna regions of Ghana. The Manager will lead the design and oversee the implementation of value chain interventions that facilitate the functioning of markets, and inherently develop strategy to strengthen capacity of local implementing partners, and market actors.
The Deputy Project Manager (DPM) shall assist the Project Manager (PM) to carry out responsibilities as may be assigned to him/her by the PM. The DPM shall assist the PM to ensure effective implementation of project strategies, adjusting course as needed based on interim performance, to achieve life-of-project performance targets.
The Finance Manager will support the Project Manager by managing use of project finances in compliance with MEDA policy, donor requirements and local country law. The Finance Manager will maintain accurate financial records and prepare timely, accurate financial reports providing vital information to project management decisions.
The GESI Manager will provide managerial oversight over the GESI and nutrition technical specialists. As part of the in-country senior management team, the GESI Manager will collaborate closely with other functional managers of the project and contribute to its overall success.
The Human Resources & Administration Manager will support the Ghana Country Director (CD) and the Project Manager by overseeing effective Human Resources and Administrative functions. In the Human Resource (HR) area, the Manager will develop and implement HR systems including: HR policies; recruitment and selection; salary and benefit administration; performance management; and training and development to ensure a positive and inclusive work environment.
The Monitoring & Impact Measurement (MIM) Manager will be based in Tamale and will be responsible for coordination of all MIM activities as well as helping to build a results-oriented culture that achieves, measures, and reports meaningful results. He or she will also be responsible for ensuring robust, consistent monitoring, evaluation, research and learning systems are put in place and implemented by staff and partners.
The Project Manager will provide managerial oversight over the project senior management team (Deputy Project Manager, Agriculture Value Chain Manager, Finance Manager, Gender Equality & Social Inclusion, and Monitoring & Impact Measurement Manager). As part of the in-country senior management team, the Manager will collaborate closely with all staff, the MEDA Ghana Country Director and other colleagues from MEDA HQ to contribute to the project’s overall success.
