The money you get from grants and scholarships goes straight toward paying for your education. There are two varieties of them: merit-based and need-based. Your financial assistance application establishes your eligibility for need-based scholarships, taking into consideration your family’s financial circumstances as well as your own. Academic performance or other achievements are the basis for the awarding of merit-based scholarships.

Concerning University of Denver
Our region is defined by the spirit of exploration and discovery, and we are situated where the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains meet. Recently, we have added the James C. Kennedy Mountain Campus, which is located next to the Roosevelt National Forest.
Being a private university, the University of Denver was founded on inquiry via research and cooperation between teachers, students, and the local and international populations.
Our very high research university status (or “R1”) according to the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education is a result of this innovative spirit combined with our distinctive 4D experience and a fundamental dedication to changing communities globally.
We provide students with endless opportunities and provide them the tools they need to change the world through nationally acclaimed academic programs, a history of broad influence, a forward-thinking vision for 21st-century education, and a strong dedication to fostering inclusivity.
The Colorado frontier gave rise to both DU and Denver, which have since grown concurrently. In the Colorado Territory, we were established as the Colorado Seminary in 1864, which was merely six years after Denver City was formed.
Our roots as a Methodist seminary gave way to a worldwide intellectual hub in a rapidly developing metropolis, just as Denver, then home to only 3,000 people, transformed into one of the most populous and diverse towns in the inner West during the gold rush era. Degrees were awarded to our first female graduate in 1886 and our first African-American graduate in 1900.

University of Denver Scholarships Coverage
Our goal is to guarantee that students with great potential can attend DU. We uphold this commitment by providing plenty of chances for need- and merit-based assistance.
Merit Scholarships
The majority of our scholarships are given out based on merit. All students who apply for admission to DU are automatically considered for these rewards, which are determined by Undergraduate Admission using the academic data supplied with the entrance application. The award amounts for first-time, first-year students are $12,000 to $33,000 per year, with a maximum of 12 quarters (not including summer quarters) available. If you are granted a merit scholarship, the amount you receive will remain constant during your four years at DU.
You must continue to make satisfactory academic progress and be enrolled full-time, or at least 12 credits every quarter, to be eligible for merit scholarships.
A $5,000 merit grant will be awarded to Fall 2024 Early Decision applicants in addition to the scholarships mentioned below. (Music majors and students getting sports aid are not included in this.)
Residence Hall Grant
The Residence Hall stipend, a $3,000 stipend for full-time students living on campus, is also automatically provided to students who are awarded a merit scholarship (apart from the Rocky Mountain scholarship). This award does not cover housing or meal plans; it only covers tuition costs. Students who live off campus or who are transfer students are not eligible for this prize.
Talent Scholarships
Talent scholarships are given out in accordance with performance in speech, theater, athletics, music, and the arts. The athletic and academic departments decide who gets what and how much of an award on an individual basis. Get in touch with your varsity coach or academic department directly for more details.
