Concerning Northwestern Oklahoma State University

Northwestern Oklahoma State University is a public regional university that has gained recognition across the country for offering affordable tuition along with a top-notch academic program. Northwestern accepts students from more than 40 states and 20 countries, while its main service area is the large region that encompasses northwest Oklahoma and the Panhandle.

The primary campus is situated in Alva, a northwest Oklahoma city of about 5,000 people. Alva is roughly 115 miles northwest of Oklahoma City, 100 miles southwest of Wichita, Kansas, and 14 miles south of the Kansas border. The town supports the university wholeheartedly and even donates sales tax revenue to support scholarships.

To obtain their Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degrees, students can select from more than 40 different fields of study. In addition to a Ph.D. program in nursing practice, Northwestern University provides master’s degrees in education, counseling psychology, and American studies.

Living in university dorms, dining in the cafeteria or Student Center Snack Bar, being involved in Greek life or campus organizations, going to home sporting events, and attending a plethora of other campus activities all contribute to the dynamic on-campus college experience that awaits students.

Enid and Woodward, the two biggest communities in northwest Oklahoma, are home to other Northwestern sites.

Northwestern University offers accessible, inexpensive access to higher education by delivering upper-level courses leading to an undergraduate or graduate degree. This helps a broad population, including adult learners, realize their career and educational goals. Many students transfer seamlessly to Northwestern to complete their four-year degree by taking advantage of the Bridge Program between Northwestern and Northern Oklahoma, a nearby community institution.
