About Millikin University Scholarships

Concerning Millikin University
Approximately 1,800 students are enrolled in standard and non-traditional undergraduate and graduate degree programs at Millikin, an independent, privately funded four-year university. You will soon learn that the hallmark of a Millikin education is a special experience we like to refer to as Performance Learning. Millikin is located in Decatur, Illinois.
Millikin has been operating under the philosophy of offering an education that integrates theory and practice since its founding more than 110 years ago. Although this was a novel concept at the time, we now understand that practice alone is insufficient.
To be adequately prepared for a successful profession beyond college, today’s students must apply their knowledge. Students find fresh ways to live out their learning and benefit from their hard work through immersion activities including co-teaching, internships, starting a business, presenting research to professionals, and giving public performances.
Graduates from Millikin are prepared for success and equipped with experience when they join the workforce. Within six months of graduation in 2021, 99 percent of alumni found work or were accepted into graduate or professional programs.

Greek Family
There are six women’s sororities and five men’s fraternities within Millikin University’s fraternity and sorority community. These organizations house and provide support for about 25% of the students at Millikin University. While the Millikin fraternity and sorority community is committed to many things, its main goals are to better the community, assist others in realizing their full potential, and create better men and women.
The contemporary Panhellenic, Multicultural Greek, and Interfraternity Councils support their member organizations, encourage fraternity and sorority life, and give current members networking opportunities. The Emerging Greek Leader Retreat, New Member Greek Academy, All-Council Educational Meetings, Informationals on Fraternity and Sorority Life, Greek Week, Progressive Dinner, and Pre-Recruitment Events are just a few of the program efforts that the councils organize.
