Central College extends a warm invitation to prospective students from all over the world to submit their applications for the 2024–2025 academic year. Applications are currently being accepted.

About Central College Scholarships

In addition to providing a demanding education, Central also values affordability and value. They award hundreds of outstanding scholarships that cover full tuition to deserving students in recognition of their academic excellence and talent.

Concerning Central College

The four-year, private Central College in Pella, Iowa, is renowned for its academic excellence, service, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), experiential learning, engaged citizenship, and athletics.

Living in a 1,100-student academic community enhances the exploration and self-discovery at the heart of the Central experience. The college was established in 1853 and is a member of the American Rivers Conference in addition to NCAA Division III athletics. Situated on Lake Red Rock, the largest lake in Iowa, Central is a bustling area within the Greater Des Moines region.

Pella, Iowa, the home of Central, is a bustling town with a population of over 10,000. Pella has a strong appearance in Oprah’s 2021 book, 60 Adorable American Towns You’ve Never Heard of But Should See Right Away. The town is well-known for its yearly Tulip Time Festival, its Dutch delicacies, and its restored windmill from the 1850s.

Pella truly has it all! The corporate offices of multiple international corporations, including Vermeer Corporation, Pella Corporation, Precision, Inc., and Lely North America, are situated in Pella, which is conveniently close to Red Rock Lake, the largest lake in Iowa.

ACCOMMODATION

In addition to fostering lifetime friendships, extracurricular activity participation, and leadership development, our residential campus offers its residents access to a variety of facilities, events, and services.

The living halls at Central are a constant source of entertainment. Throughout the year, resident advisors plan events such as casino nights, pet therapy sessions, and celebrations. Students like decorating for Homecoming, hosting neighborhood children for Halloween trick-or-treating, playing video games, organizing environmental initiatives, and challenging other residence halls to tug-of-war.

Laundry is free at Central, so you don’t need to bother about gathering or keeping quarters on hand. That’s right, you may wash and dry your bedding, clothes, and other items as much as you like for free!

MEAL

We are aware that neither you nor we are interested in the same old solutions. The three on-campus dining options at Central offer great value, comforting flavors, and the cuisine you’re craving.

Here, we enjoy celebrating! Campus classics like cook-to-order Mongolian Friday, Fresh Cookie Tuesday, Sundae Wednesday, and more are offered every week. Additionally, once a month or so, you’ll get to experience unique eating events like All Iowa Day, holiday-themed dinners, kids’ buffets with all of your favorite childhood foods like potato smiles and small corndogs, and tailgating.

Scholarship Categories and Benefits

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Every accepted student is first awarded a $1,000 Journey Scholarship. Next, look for a scholarship that corresponds with your GPA. Deduct the total cost of $33,048 from both of those scholarship amounts. After that, take part in scholarship events for the other scholarships listed on this page. Scholarships from Central College are renewable for a total of four years.

$1,000 JOURNEY SCHOLARSHIPS

Generous donors enable each accepted student to receive a $1,000 Journey Scholarship. Your family, friends, and fellow Central graduates are supporting you in achieving your goals. One of our main priorities is helping students with the Journey Scholarship.

IOWA SISTER STATES SCHOLARSHIP

Founded in 1985, Iowa Sister States is a nonprofit organization tasked with overseeing the state of Iowa’s official partnerships with other states, as directed by the governor. Central College is happy to provide a US $1,000 scholarship award per academic year to all eligible resident students from Iowa’s nine sister states (as mentioned below). The scholarship is renewed annually for a maximum of four years.

Students who want to apply for the scholarship must fulfill all of the requirements listed below. Any academic scholarship that has been granted may be coupled with the Iowa Sister States Scholarship.

The following criteria must be fulfilled for a student to be eligible for the Iowa Sister States scholarship:

  • Fulfill all prerequisites for admission as an international student.
  • Present documentation attesting to your citizenship and current residency status from the Iowa Sister State.
  • Enroll at Central College as a full-time student seeking a degree.
